Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 November 2026
OT Sim ("we", "us") operates the OT Sim game at otsim.uk and via mobile app stores. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it. We aim to collect as little as possible.
1. Who we are
OT Sim is an independent, solo-dev game project. The data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR is the operator of OT Sim, contactable at unicredmac@gmail.com .
2. Data we collect
- Account data: email address and authentication ID (when you sign in with email or Google).
- Game state: your saves, high scores, unlocks, and in-game purchases tied to your account.
- Purchase records: a record that a transaction happened (product, price ID, timestamp, provider transaction ID). Card details are handled entirely by Stripe or Google Play — we never see or store them.
- Technical data: minimal request logs, service worker version, and anonymous analytics events used to fix bugs and balance the game.
- Optional gameplay analytics: if you opt in (off by default), we collect anonymous gameplay events (like reaching a rank or day milestone) tagged with a random, non-identifying UUID. This helps us see where players progress and get stuck. You can turn this off at any time in Settings, which deletes the UUID. See Settings → Privacy for full details.
- Ads (Android app only): the free game shows ads from Google AdMob: a short ad between runs, and ads you choose to watch for a reward. To show them, Google collects your device's advertising ID, your IP address, and how you interact with the ads. In the UK, EEA and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks first whether ads may be personalised, and you can change your answer any time in Settings → Ad choices. Anyone who has bought anything in the game sees no ads. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
- Friday reminder: if you switch it on, the reminder is scheduled on your phone. Nothing about it leaves your device.
- Referrals: if you use or share a burner code, we record which account referred which, to award perks.
3. How we use it
- To run the game, sync saves, and grant purchases.
- To operate leaderboards (username only, never email).
- To detect fraud, abuse, and cheating.
- To send transactional emails you've opted into (e.g. purchase restored notifications).
- To improve balance and fix bugs (aggregate analytics only).
We do not sell your personal data. Ads in the free Android game are served by Google AdMob as described above; we never share your saves, purchases or account with advertisers.
4. Legal bases (UK GDPR)
- Contract: to provide the game and honour purchases.
- Legitimate interests: anti-fraud, service integrity, minimal analytics.
- Consent: personalised ads, optional notifications and marketing-style updates.
- Legal obligation: tax / refund records for purchases.
5. Processors we use
- Supabase — auth, database, storage (EU region where available).
- Stripe — web payments and refunds.
- Google Play Billing — payments made inside the Android app.
- Google AdMob — ads in the free Android game (see section 2). Google's own use of the data is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
- Cloudflare — hosting and DDoS protection.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
These processors act on our instructions under their own terms and data-processing agreements.
6. Retention
Account and game-state data is kept while your account exists. Purchase records are kept for at least 6 years to satisfy UK tax rules. Anonymous analytics is retained for up to 24 months.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing of your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. See our GDPR page for how to exercise them.
8. Children
OT Sim depicts adult themes (drugs, violence, crime) and is rated for 17+. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
9. Contact
